Get Kitchen Cabinet Internals Like Wales’ Richest Homes

28 Aug 2026

If you’ve furnished a space recently, you’ll know how hard it is to find matching wooden furniture. Even when we’ve gaslit ourselves into thinking the TV stand and book case as “essentially the same,” the colour savants among us can’t help but point out the clash. “Oh, and that picture’s crooked, too.”

Full coordination is easy when matching kitchen cabinet internals with extras, though, right? After all, everything is from the same kitchen supplier. Surely, it has to match? Oh, my sweet summer child. The truth is, many manufacturers use several suppliers whose “oaks” aren’t alike… unlike Sigma 3 Kitchens.

Indeed, Sigma 3 Kitchens can achieve full coordination – from luxury pantry storage to kitchen acoustic panels. Hidden drawers? Yes! Wooden handles and handlerails? Those, too! Our experts routinely create cohesion worthy of boutique carpentry houses. What’s more, we’re open about how we’re leading the way.

Why Extra Wood Finish Options?

Before we delve into specifics, it’s worth highlighting what makes a kitchen look premium: complete uniformity. In the past, this was a key selling point of first-class craftsmen. Their logic was: pay for bespoke material cuts and every cut of wood will match. Only, it would cost you a six-figure fortune.

Meanwhile, paying retail prices meant you’d have to settle for… close enough. *Shudder* As a result, most peoples’ cupboard doors, handles, worktops, decorative wall panels, shelves and internal cabinetry finishes would never be a perfect colour match. That used to be fine. Doors hid most storage.

Nowadays, however, most homeowners want kitchen storage with specialist interiors. Gone are the days want kitchen cabinets hid stuff. Now they showcase it. Everything has to be Instagrammable, including “hidden” kitchen storage. Luckily, Sigma 3 offers four finishes across all our products.

Inside Kitchen Cupboards

Firstly, we have our lighter finishes. A long-term staple at our manufacturing facility in South Wales, Portland Oak offers the country charm of a family home. In contrast, Blonde Oak, a newer addition, provides a fresher aesthetic, which looks clean and bright without losing warmth along the way.

Our manufacturing is fundamental to this offering. Having brought production inhouse, we can create cohesive oak-effect kitchen cabinetry – both internal and exposed – in whatever range you choose. For instance, take our wooden cutlery dividers or hidden drawers. There’s no need for plastic inserts!

Edward Lakin - Branch Manager at Sigma 3 Kitchens Cardiff West

“Wireframe and plastic inserts are classic markers of poorly considered kitchens. Compare them to matching all-wood components and you’ll see a huge difference. It’s the one upgrade customers rarely consider before talking to a designer, but they can’t go back once they’ve seen the light.”

Want to go darker? How about Tuscan Walnut and Espresso? The yin to our light finishes’ yang, these options share a similar trajectory, Tuscan Walnut being a veteran while Espresso is a recent addition, reimagined to appeal to modern tastes. Both are rich, connoting affluence in a coordinated kitchen.

This Portobello wine cellar (above) is one such example, created using dark walnut kitchen cabinets, wine drawers and kitchen wall shelving. A paragon of elegance, it boasts seamless yet affordable cohesion. Similarly, this handleless Siena kitchen with Espresso handlerails and dressers is the height of sophistication.

On Cabinet Doors

Achieving a wood finish that’s consistent across all your integrated kitchen storage can add an air of luxury. That said, wood-finished areas often look better when used sparingly to complement the doors and worktops. Hence, we never limit our coordination efforts to internals and decorative features.

Indeed, while we believe the beauty of a kitchen isn’t skin deep, we understand a kitchen is more than just shelves and drawer boxes, too. Many of our customers prioritise door colours and accessories over internals. As a result, we aim for a full coordination of colours across every aspect of our kitchens.

Specifically, we routinely refresh our range door colours. Doing so, we empower customers to find one that matches their accessories and complements their woodwork finishes. Broader fashion trends offer key inspiration. That said, we still filter proposed shades to optimise for timeless design.

Across Classic and Modern Storage

Sometimes, kitchen retailers offer matching internals or doors, but not across all their products, meaning you can’t get your first-choice dresser in your preferred door style. Not wanting to limit our customers, we’ve created traditional and handleless variations of all our bespoke kitchen storage.

Take, for example, our Lansbury corner pantry. In the past, this unique feature came in two finishes in classic or Shaker door options. Since the update, it’s now available in any door style and any of the four major wood finishes. Want a Hatfield or Amalfi range? Either way, the Lansbury is an option.

Contrary to popular believe, full coordination isn’t standard. Most kitchen makers can’t fulfil it, and a bespoke job that offers a perfect match can cost the Earth. Hence, Sigma 3 Kitchens is one of the few kitchen manufacturers that can offer fully matching luxury without the luxury price tag.
