Production Supervisor

Bridgend

At an exciting time in our plans for growth, Sigma 3 Kitchens is looking to strengthen its manufacturing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Production Supervisor with ambition and self-motivation to support the drive for improvement in our Manufacturing Division, specifically in the assembly area at the Bridgend Factory.

Key Tasks

Quality

  • Develop & adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – control of documentation and training.
  • Information / feedback – understand the need for documentation, its control and traceability.
  • Maintain good housekeeping working to the principles of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and TQM
  • Understand Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative Action (CAPA) system in problem solving
  • Understand working parameters of machines and principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance, product specification conformity, QC checking / recording / reporting and traceability.
  • Quality of finished Goods, Non-Conformance and Completion Rates

Performance

  • The ability to capture the best techniques for all jobs.
  • Understand Material & People workflows
  • Understanding of department targets and objectives.
  • Responsible for team and departmental achievement of KPIs
  • Capable of root cause analysis to predict and eliminate operational problems
  • Attend meetings as and when requested and report back to Teams via Team Briefs
  • Maintain Operational Performance Boards.
  • Utilization of Continuous Improvement Techniques at all times
  • Ownership of Assembly Operations (People, Process, Products & Procedures.)

Planning production

  • Best utilisation of manpower to achieve production targets.
  • Planning the daily workload to meet demand and achieve KPIs.
  • Making proper time available for training.
  • Rescheduling / reorganising workload and staff to overcome problems to meet KPIs.
  • Liaise with the Factory Manager regarding staffing levels and in particular authorisation for overtime.
  • Supervise staff
  • Management of staff to meet manufacturing /departmental objectives and targets
  • Management and authorisation of holidays in accordance with Company procedures.
  • New product training
  • Responsible for staff attendance levels / time keeping – challenge and conduct Return To Work Interviews
  • Conduct team meetings as directed and record discussion / reaction. Provide feedback to the Factory Manager.
  • First line disciplinary action in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Capable of motivating and developing Staff

Health & Safety

  • The ability to make all jobs safe
  • Keeping all safety devices in proper use
  • Induct, instruct on & follow up on safety training
  • Set a good safety example
  • Complete Risk Assessments and document.
  • Toolbox talks / train and educate staff on assessments and how they need to be recorded.
  • Monitor H&S actions, report faults to HSEQ Manager.
  • Work with HSEQ Manager to construct Work Instructions; Safety Risk Assessments; Procedures & Training packages for all work-based tasks.
  • Compliant to Statutory Requirements i.e PPE

Personal Specification

  • Be self-motivated and have first class customer service skills
  • Have the personality, communication skills and ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • The ability to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Must have the ability to evaluate and predict operational issues before they arise
  • Be well organised to meet priorities, timescales and deadlines.
  • The ability to work with pace and purpose.
  • Flexible working arrangements to meet customer needs, early mornings, evenings and weekends as workload demands.
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to work as an integral part of Manufacturing.
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • The ability to understand flow and problem solving
  • The ability to carry out scheduled basic maintenance
